Services

Everything your return needs, and nothing it doesn't.

Every engagement starts with a conversation, so you only pay for the work you actually need.

Individual & Family Returns

Federal and state returns prepared carefully and reviewed line by line. W-2s, investments, rentals, retirement income, and life changes are all covered.

Small Business Tax

Sole proprietors, LLCs, S-corps, and partnerships. Schedule C, 1120-S, and 1065 filings with a focus on every deduction you've earned.

Tax Planning & Advisory

Proactive, year-round strategy: estimated payments, entity selection, retirement contributions, and timing decisions made before year-end rather than after.

IRS Notices & Representation

Received a letter? Don't panic. We review the notice, respond on your behalf, and resolve audits, payment plans, and penalty abatements.

Bookkeeping & Payroll

Clean monthly books, reconciliations, and payroll filings, so tax season is a formality instead of a scramble.

Amended & Prior-Year Returns

Missed a form, a credit, or a whole year? We'll get you caught up, correct past filings, and recover what you're owed.

E-filed and confirmed. If the IRS ever writes back, we're still here, and that's included.

About

A real person who knows your name, and your return.

Finochio Tax & Advisory was built on a simple idea: taxes are personal, so tax help should be too. You won't be handed off to a seasonal preparer or a call center. You'll work directly with Anthony Finochio, who prepares and reviews every return personally.

Clients across Central New York stay because they get straight answers, returns that hold up, and someone who picks up the phone in July as readily as in April.

  • Accuracy first. Every return is reviewed twice before it's filed.
  • Plain English. You'll understand your return, not just sign it.
  • Transparent pricing. A quote before any work begins, with no surprises.
  • Confidential. Your data is encrypted and handled under IRS Publication 4557 safeguards.

FAQ

Good questions, clear answers.

Do I need to come into the office?

No. Most clients work with us entirely remotely: upload documents through the secure portal, review your return on a video call, and sign electronically. In-person appointments are always available if you prefer.

What if I can't file by the deadline?

We can file an extension (Form 4868 for individuals) that gives you until October 15 to file. An extension to file is not an extension to pay, so we'll estimate what you owe and help you pay it on time to avoid penalties.

I got a letter from the IRS. What should I do?

Don't ignore it, and don't pay anything before it's been reviewed. Many notices are automated and some are simply wrong. Send us a copy through the portal and we'll tell you exactly what it means and what to do next.

I haven't filed in a few years. Can you help?

Yes, and without judgment. We'll pull your IRS transcripts, reconstruct what's needed, file the missing returns, and work out a payment plan if one is needed. The sooner we start, the more options you have.

How long does it take to get my return done?

Typically 5–10 business days once we have all your documents. During peak season (late March–April) allow a little more time, or get your documents in early to move to the front of the line.

How is my information kept secure?

Documents are exchanged through an encrypted portal, never plain email. We follow the IRS's Publication 4557 safeguards and maintain a written information security plan as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule.

How do I pay?

Invoices are sent through the client portal and can be paid by card or ACH. For eligible returns, fees can also be deducted from your refund.
